Kelly Edwards of The Style Network and HGTV recently published an interior design guide, The Design Cookbook where she shares “recipes for a stylish home.” A few of her recipes include using stencils from Royal Design Studio as key ingredients! Interior design relies so much on color and texture to create desired moods in different spaces. Whether the goal is a dramatic or calming effect, stencils add character, personality, and a personal touch to all sorts of interior spaces.
With all kinds of mixing and matching styles happening these days, Kelly shows how stencils can be used to combine fun details with the classics. We love the way Kelly painted our Casablanca Trellis Stencil in a classy and timeless navy, which will surely outlive any traditional wallpaper. We are also excited to see our Endless Circles Lattice Moroccan stencil gracing the walls of a modern and clean office.
There are also a couple of stencil projects featured from some of our painting adventures to Peacock Pavilions in Marrakech, Morocco. The gold art deco-inspired mural on black is a perfect example of the endless possibilities creative stenciling can offer. And our Uzbek Suzani stencil enlarged as a Modello® masking stencil and painted in a rich teal on this guest bedroom ceiling is also a real show-stopper! Finally, another popular stencil pattern, the Eastern Lattice Moroccan stencil adds a personal touch to an otherwise white and boring cabinet door.
Kelly’s book also shares countless other decorating tips, DIY ideas, and gorgeous photography, allowing you to get lost in for hours cooking up your own home decorating ideas! Be sure to check out the Kelly Edwards website, for more of Kelly’s style tips and resources.
