What's on YOUR vanity? Our famous friend Maryam Montague shares what's on HERS in the September 2013 issue of House Beautiful in the monthly column "What's on Your Vanity". In Maryam's case, besides the obvious toiletries and makeup, there is also a lovely custom stenciled arch using our popular Eastern Lattice Stencil. Shown here in white over a turquoise background, this design was one of many Moroccan stencil patterns that we created for one of our Stencil and Painting Retreats to Peacock Pavilions in Marrakech.
You could rock your own Moroccan style in the same way! Maryam simply had a piece of plywood cut to a Moroccan arch shape and mounted the painted and stenciled wood piece directly over an average bathroom mirror. Any number of allover patterns from our Moroccan Stencil Collection would be great for stenciling a custom arch over a mirror, door, or even a headboard and allow you to easily bring a touch of Moroccan style into your own home.
Or, if you're the adventurous type, why not consider visiting the source and joining Melanie Royals and her Peacock Painters on one of our annual Marrakech painting trips? There are still a couple of spots open for our May 2014 retreat and we'd love for you to be a part of it!
