The best way to see how something works is through what we call a “transformation test” or "before & after". This is so true regarding decorating makeovers (HGTV, anyone??). The biggest makeover that we see in our favorite decorators’ and designers’ homes is when they use Royal Design Studio Stencils and paint on their walls, floors, or furniture. “I would like to proudly present my latest project: my stenciled hallway floor. The boring grey floor tiles now look pretty amazing. Thanks to the beautiful Anatolia Tile Stencil from Royal Design Studio. I used 3 layers of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint for the base coat. The 3rd layer a mix of 1 part paint and 1 part floor varnish for tiles. This to seal the Chalk Paint and to make sure that after the varnish layer, it would start running. The shape of the piece is very traditional; however most of these corner cabinets are painted in a traditional Swedish style. I am from Zimbabwe, and so I chose the Elsabet Trellis Furniture Stencil which is inspired by the geometric tribal patterns of Africa, to bring together our two cultures into this one piece.
