You’ve styled every room of your home but can’t seem to wrap your head around getting style into your laundry room. If this is a room you inhabit often why not make it a pretty extension of your design style too? Jenna Sue Design knows that she can give the tedious task of doing laundry a boost by surrounding herself with pretty, inspiring pattern. This is the original laundry room she was using… It looks forgotten about! Jenna has beautiful cottage house style – shouldn’t her laundry room too?
Jenna needed to makeover this small laundry room but didn’t want to resort to ruining the walls with wallpaper. She discovered Royal Design Studio Stencils and loved the idea that “stenciling is less of a commitment, is low cost, beginner friendly, and you can simply paint over it if you don’t like it.”
She chose our Spanish Lace Scallop Wall Stencil to paint the angular accent wall above the cabinet. She loved how the registration marks on the stencil and the durable mylar material made it easy for her to bend the stencil into the corners and match up the pattern. You can see her video on how to stencil here.
The Spanish Lace Scallop Wall Stencil definitely gives this room a romantic feel and brings so much warmth and pretty pattern to this interestingly angled wall. Now her laundry room that is just as stylish as the rest of her cottage style home!
After painting the cabinet, adding a brick floor, and finishing wicker accessories, Jenna can say her laundry room makeover is finished! She says, “I like to think of it as a little pocket of pretty. I wasn’t intending for the paint application to be lighter/heavier in different areas, but it adds a dimensional quality that makes it so much more unique, and I love the contrast against the black doors, brass hardware and reclaimed wood.”
With simply paint and wall stencils, this uninspiring little room went from being an eye sore to a romantic farmhouse nook. The lace wall stencil adds a little incentive to tackle those boring laundry chores! Jenna says, “A bit fancy for a place meant for chores, but that’s what makes it fun and unexpected.” We love the unexpected, how about you?
