Stenciling is a fun and easy way to make your bookcases and cabinets stand out. Whether using a classic, contemporary or global stencil patterns from Royal Design Studio, you can choose use both a soft tone-on-tone color scheme or add pizazz with color! Any bookcase or cabinet can give you a wonderful area for highlighting with paint and stencils. Last week, we shared inspiring stenciled bookcase ideas from our stenciling friends and we continue with five more wonderful stencil projects for you this week.
Honey Sweet Home undertook a drab to fab hutch makeover that incorporated our Small Moorish Trellis Stencil that upped the glam quotient considerably. The stenciling was done with metallic craft paint that shimmers charmingly. If you'd like that effect as well, we recommend the Royal Stencil Cremes.
Our friend Michele Hiley from Stiltskin Studios is a stenciling pro! She frequently uses our stencil patterns to adorn her furniture makeovers and this stenciled hutch transformation is no exception. She wanted to keep this particular piece "neutral, soothing and beautiful" and so she used Pure White Chalk Paint® decorative paint by Annie Sloan for the body along with the Bronze Age Stencil Creme and our Springtime in Paris Lettering Stencil for the backing. Gorgeous!Customer Victoria Mir transformed this china cabinet with Old Violet and Paloma Chalk Paint® in addition to our Antoinette Damask Wall Stencil stenciled along the back! So stately! The Allover Damask Stencil Collection is the perfect DIY method for beginners to create a modern and dramatic designer wallpaper look with stenciling.
A creative and enterprising customer, Kimberly Wright, shared her transformation of an old television cabinet into a striking new stenciled storage unit with us! She replaced and stenciled the back with our contemporary Rockin' Roses Damask Stencil and painted it with fresh colors. Stencilicious!
Stencils are also perfect for shelved walls that are crying out for pattern and color! Customer Beth Ehrensberger said that this was an easy and inexpensive upgrade -- the shelving, the cabinet installation and the stenciled wall were all done in one evening! Beth says, "All of the contractors I've had coming through the house, working on my kitchen renovation, have loved the design and couldn't believe it was a stencil. The stenciling is my favorite part of the kitchen (and that's not because it involves coffee)!" We love it, too, Beth!
