Do the walls in your home make you want to dance with joy? No? Well, we'll soon have you doing the Herringbone Shuffle with an incredibly fun stenciled wall project! The Herringbone Shuffle Stencil from the Allover Modern Stencils Collection is one of our most popular graphic designs. It's a fun twist on the beautiful Herringbone pattern and can easily shift from traditional designs to more contemporary spaces!
Designer Bonnie Christine made the stencil pattern so versatile -- you use your fave colors to make the surface your very own. No two projects will ever be the same! Plus, you can use as many or as little colors in your palette as you'd like and it's not only good for walls but fabrics, furniture, flooring and ceilings, too! Blogger Myra Hope from My Blessed Life used the Herringbone Shuffle to create a fabulous background for the family's drop space. Let's boogie on in and learn more!
Myra wanted to create a drop space for her family -- an area near the front door where everyone can drop off keys, umbrellas and coats to keep everything organized and easy to find. What a great idea, right?! First, she removed the wallpaper (shudder) and prepped the area with good primers and paints. While she was working on the wall, her husband was building and staining the wood shelves and decorative brackets that would be installed after the wall had been stenciled.
Myra shares that the moment she saw the Herringbone Shuffle Stencil, her heart was a goner. "I fell in love. Hard.", she explains. She also loved choosing where to place her four Valspar colors! Myra also used our stencil brushes to create the pattern with the pretty colors and noted that off-loading the brushes of excess material was key in keeping her stencil lines crisp and virtually seepage-free. She also used the ceiling filler stencil that comes with this pattern for easy stenciling at the ceiling line. Be sure to check out the complete stenciled feature wall project details in her blog post!
Ahhh. Don't you just love this completed project? We do, too! We also adore all the accents that were added, from the umbrella stand to the chair seating to the fresh flowers. Many thanks to Myra of my Blessed Life for sharing their lovely stenciled project with us and as always, we'd love to see yours!
