Decorating a hallway with stencils is a great way to add a dose of allover pattern in a small area. And, it has the added benefit of visually connecting the rest of the rooms that lead off of it. Gabbi of Retro Ranch Renovation planned for a major remodel that led her to create her dream hallway. She knocked down a few walls which created a more desirable open floor plan for her home. Once that happened, though, she felt she needed to spice up and connect her new blank hallway walls with a stenciled wallpaper look.
Initially, she stenciled her hallways walls with our popular Moorish Trellis Wall Stencil. She loved it when it first went up! However, after some time had passed, she realized it wasn’t enough pattern for her. Like everyone else, Gabbi’s style is constantly evolving. She now wanted to take more risks and try new things. And that’s why stencils are so great! Stencils are a budget-friendly option for home decorating that can be easily painted over as your taste and style changes.
After seeing Young House Love’s stenciled bathroom floor, Gabbi knew she now wanted our Silk Road Suzani Stencil on her hallway walls. It offered the WOW factor and bold pattern that she was looking for. She kept it from being overpowering by choosing another neutral color palette for a tone-on-tone look.
Gabbi says, “We love both stenciled walls, and we love how flexible these stencils are when designing (and redesigning!) a room. It’s so easy to change up the look of your home with just stencils and paint!” We definitely agree, Gabbi!
