Twinkle Twinkle, San Diego Star! Royal Design Studio's President and Creative Director, Melanie Royals, was one out of nine talented San Diego artists to be recognized by San Diego Home and Garden Lifestyles magazine! She was honored as a "Star of San Diego" in the December 2012 issue with a two-page article featuring the company's story and studio.
The article begins with Melanie's history as a self-taught entrepreneur who began cutting her own designs into stencils and grew her business into Royal Design Studio and Modello Designs. Beautiful images showcased the 8,500 square-foot building -- you can see how almost every nook and cranny in the "living" studio is decorated floor to ceiling with stenciled decorative finishes, working pattern designs, stencils and painting materials. The studio also houses the sophisticated, computerized stencil-production facility that creates and brings you all the gorgeous stencil designs you find at Royal Design Studio and Modello Designs.
More fun was had when a local television crew stopped by to visit the studio! KUSI's Brad Perry interviewed Melanie to learn more about the studio, the online Virtual Workshops and of course, how to stencil! Check out the fun video feature:
