Stenciling is a fast, easy, and inexpensive way to customize and update any surface in your house with paint, including walls, floors, ceilings, furniture, and fabric. Stenciling is generally done using either stencil brushes or stencil rollers. You can stencil with craft acrylic paints, latex wall paint, or our specially designed Royal Stencil Creme paints. The Lisabetta Damask stencil is so pretty. Its quite large so doing a small room did not take a lot of time at all. I chose an iridescent acrylic gold paint I bought off amazon for the stencil that I layered over a turmeric wall. The end result is so regal looking everyone thinks it's wallpaper. The stencil is easy to work with on the flat parts of the wall. I suggest following the video instructions and going from top to bottom instead of from left to right to keep things relatively straight. The corners and ceiling are a little difficult. I think if I had used a color that stands out on the background more it would have been hard to make the ceiling joint look good as a first timer. I didn't want to put spray adhesive on my walls so a large straight edge really helped a lot here to really press the stencil into the joint, along with LOTS of painters tape to keep it from falling down on top of me. I figured out that since my colors were so similar if I lightly went over the pattern in spots it gave it this kind of worn aged look so I took advantage of that for the hard to maneuver spots. My last step is to add a chair rail to the wall to complete the look. All in all I'm very happy with it and get lots of compliments on it. The money it saved was totally worth it.
